Five years ago when I was 17 years old, I went to Dr. Roger Hudgins (neurosurgeon) when he was in Atlanta. He changed my life.
After I had a very scary yet comforting visit with him and was diagnosed with congenital hydrocephalus (water on the brain), he performed the surgery that saved my life, placing a VP shunt to help the CSF (cerebrospinal fluid) flow into my abdomen.
Months after the surgery, he adjusted my shunt twice and watched me grow and change. I even baked him a cake
I have been trying to find him and get in touch with him to thank him and update him on my life and how I am doing.
I recently graduated from college with a degree in Special Education and am now a Behavior Therapist for children with autism. Words cannot express how blessed and thankful I am that Dr. Hudgins came into my life and changed it forever.
Dr. Hudgins, I hope you are doing well, and I just want you to know how wonderful you are. I am a healthy and thriving person that can give back much like you have. Thank you.
