So grateful for everything this hospital has done

My name is Michelle. I had my first experience with Akron Children’s Hospital in April 2012.

On April 13, 2012, I had a gorgeous little girl named Nicolette, 6 weeks early. She was born with a couple of medical problems, so they called in the lovely people from Akron Children’s Hospital Boardman location. They moved her from Warren to Boardman that day.

While I was resting and beginning my healing process from the c-section, I knew my baby girl would be in good hands.

The video below is about the journey I endured through my pregnancy and after her birth. My daughter was born with total anomalous pulmonary venous return and her esophagus was not attached.

At 21 years old I was not ready to make the decisions I had to make, but I did anyway with the help of my family and the doctors at Akron Children’s Hospital.

  1. You’re such an inspiration and such a strong mommy! My son is 3 months old and has severe Aortic Stenosis and has open heart surgery in Michigan next week. I’m only 18 years old so I know all too well about being young and having to make such important decisions. But I hope that everything works out, and she is beautiful!! :)

  2. I’m so sorry you had to go through this but you are an inspiration and those decisions are never easy to make. We had 15 months with my niece before we lost her, so I can sympathize with your pain. I pray for healing and comfort for you and your family. She is a beautiful little angel, smiling down on you and someday you will be with her again! :) Thanks for sharing your story!
