Shop for the holidays and support Akron Children’s

The holiday season is all about giving back. While you’re out shopping, consider visiting these retail partners and giving back to Akron Children’s Hospital.

Stuffed animal

Macy’s and Aflac are partnering once again to help fight children’s cancer across the nation.

Stop by Macy’s this holiday season and purchase a stuffed duck. All proceeds from the sale of these toys will benefit the Showers Family Center for Childhood Cancer and Blood Disorders at Akron Children’s Hospital.

Small ducks are $10 and large ducks are $15.

Kohl’s

Kohl’s Cares

Peanuts merchandiseThrough the Kohl’s Cares® cause merchandise program, Kohl’s sells $5 books and plush toys. One-hundred percent of the proceeds from these items benefit children’s health and education programs nationwide.

To date, Kohl’s has donated more than $3.5 million to Akron Children’s Hospital.

Starbucks

Giving Tree

Visit the Austintown or Boardman Starbucks locations now through Friday, Dec. 20 and help the patients at Akron Children’s Hospital Mahoning Valley by donating a toy. Once the gift and completed gift tag are turned in, customers will receive a free tall beverage.

Last year the Boardman location alone collected 231 toys for our patients.

Youngstown Cycle Supply and Audio Extreme

Toy drive

GiftsYoungstown Cycle Supply and Audio Extreme is holding a toy drive through Jan. 7, 2014. Drop off a new toy that will then be donated to Akron Children’s Hospital Mahoning Valley.

Youngstown Cycle Supply is also starting a Brighten Up for the Kids campaign by decorating their facility with multiple lights. The organization is encouraging other businesses near the hospital to also decorate with holiday lights.

Eat n’ Park

Caring for Kids

Caring for Kids” is a national fundraising event at Eat ‘n Park locations that benefits children’s hospitals. This year, through Dec. 15, Eat ‘n Park Restaurants in the Mahoning Valley area will make donations to Akron Children’s Hospital Mahoning Valley. The campaign runs through the Dec.18 in the Akron area, and benefits Akron Children’s Hospital.

Last year, “Caring for Kids” generated nearly $28,000 for Akron Children’s Hospital.

Ruby Tuesdays

GiveBack night

On Dec. 17, the Canfield and Austintown Ruby Tuesdays locations are hosting a give back night where 20 percent of the proceeds benefit Akron Children’s Hospital Mahoning Valley.

Barnes & Noble

Holiday Book Drive

dream-snow-bookThrough Dec. 31, visit the Barnes & Noble on Medina Road in Akron and purchase a children’s book and tell the cashier you would like to donate it to the Reach Out and Read program at Akron Children’s.

Or in the Mahoning Valley, on Dec. 14 and 15, mention you are shopping to support Akron Children’s Hospital Mahoning Valley’s Reach Out and Read program and a portion of your sales will benefit the hospital.

Books-A-Million

Holiday Book Drive

The Books-A-Million at Eastwood Mall is also collecting books for Akron Children’s Hospital Mahoning Valley. Now through Dec. 21, shoppers have the opportunity to purchase a book to be donated to the hospital.

Quaker Steak & Lube

Dine to Donate

Stop by Quaker Steak & Lube® in North Canton on Dec. 30 from 4 to 9 p.m., and tell your server you are there to support Akron Children’s Hospital. A portion of your check will benefit the patients at the hospital. The offer is good for dine in or carry out orders.
