It was about an hour after birth that the chaos from a C-section finally died down and we decided to count our brand new baby boy’s fingers and toes.
It didn’t take long for us to realize that Liam’s 2 fingers were stuck together. We didn’t think much of it. We made a quick joke and went on loving our perfect and unique son.
Weeks later our pediatrician referred us to Dr. Ananth Murthy at Akron Children’s. After doing a bit of research I was worried and scared.
Anesthesia and skin graft are words no new mom wants to hear. The night before our appointment with Dr. Murthy, I sat in our living room and prayed, “Lord, give him the words to put us at peace about this surgery.”
The next day, He did just that. Dr. Murthy was so warm and inviting. He helped us understand exactly what would happen and gave us complete confidence in him.
The day of our son’s surgery we were scared, but we knew he was in the best hands and that was such a wonderful gift.
Now his fingers have healed beautifully and we are so thankful for Akron Children’s Hospital and the best possible care for our son.
