The 15th annual “Have a Heart, Do Your Part” radiothon ended this year as another success.
The radiothon kicked off on Feb. 12 during the Change Bandit Bash at the Sheraton Suites in Cuyahoga Falls.
More than 300 people attended the Bash to turn in their spare change and enjoy food and giveaways as well as activities such as face painting.
At the end of the evening, $47,465.24 was collected to kick off the radiothon on Thursday in the atrium lobby at Akron Children’s.
For the next 3 days, countless patient families and volunteers took to the airwaves for Akron Children’s largest fundraiser.
At 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, an anxious crowd awaited the final total – $633,306.98.
Thanks to our Change Bandits, donors, volunteers, Keith, Tony, Meg and the entire 98.1 WKDD team, for making this year’s radiothon a success.
