Kaydence had to wear a cast for 13 weeks while her hips healed after surgery.

On May 6, 2013, we found out that our 15-month-old daughter had hip dysplasia in both hips. On May 17, 2013, Dr. Patrick Riley performed surgery on Kaydence, hoping to lock both hips back in the socket.

Kaydence and her brotherUnfortunately, things were a little more challenging then expected. We were only successful with one side at that time.

She then had a second surgery on June 12, 2013, which was successful!

Kaydence was in a Hip Spica Cast for 13 weeks while her hips healed. She finally got her cast off Aug. 19, 2013.

It’s been a year since her surgeries and I thank Dr. Riley every day. I say a prayer every night thanking God for watching over him during surgery and blessing those magic hands.

It brings so much joy to us to watch our now 2 year old walk, run, jump, and hop.

My daughter had hip dysplasia also but they found out she had it before we left the hospital when she was born. She had two surgery before she was six months old and then had two different kinds of braces. Dr. Schrader is her doctor and we will see him until she is like 15 or 16. We just love him… You would never know she had it, she took tap, ballet, jazz and hip hop, did gymnastics and cheered. Now she wanting to do soccer. Nothing holds her back. She is a very active seven year old.
