What does a favorite emoji say about a person? Well, for Molly Jonna, MD, her favorite smiley face emoji is a reflection of her disposition as a physician at Akron Children’s Hospital Pediatrics. From routine wellness exams to early detection and management of other health issues, Dr. Jonna is happy to tend to the physical, emotional and social health needs of babies, children and teens up to age 21.
Q: What emoji do you use the most?
A: Smiley face 🙂
Q: If you could live anywhere in the world where would it be and why?
A: I would live on the ocean in Northern California because I love being outdoors, having a temperate climate and looking at those beautiful views.
Q: When you curl up on the couch to watch a movie, are you most likely to have a bowl of popcorn, chocolate or box of tissues?
A: Bowl of popcorn. I am all about the salt.
Q: What is the first thing you do when you wake up?
A: Drink a cup of coffee so that I am able to wake up.
Q: Do you dunk your Oreos in milk, lick off the icing, eat them as they are or avoid them altogether?
A: Dunk them in milk, for sure!
Q: Where did you grow up?
A: Traverse City, which is a town in Northern Michigan that’s known for cherries.
Q: Who makes up your family, including pets?
A: My husband, James, our son Isaac (5) who just started kindergarten, our dog, Lucy, and our cat, Dezi.
Q: What was your favorite childhood toy?
A: Barbie dolls. I loved dressing them up, doing their hair and, of course, decorating my Barbie Dream House! 😉
Q: What’s your favorite movie/book/TV show/sports team?
A: It’s tough to pick just one movie. I’m a big Quentin Tarantino fan, but also enjoy a good romantic comedy. My favorite books are the Harry Potter series and for a TV show, it would have to be How I Met Your Mother. My favorite sports team, sorry to say Ohio State fans, but it’s GO BLUE (Michigan)! In my defense, it’s where I grew up and went to school.
Q: What was your first paying job?
A: I bussed tables at a local restaurant in the town I grew up in. It was called The Boathouse and was right on the river so at least I got some good views while I was working.
