Holiday Tree Festival: A dazzling display of dedication

Twinkling lights, beautifully-decorated trees and dazzling displays are set to shine at the 33rd annual Holiday Tree Festival, which for many, kicks off the holiday season on Nov. 22. The festival, which is presented by the volunteers of Akron Children’s Hospital, is expected to draw more than 250,000 visitors during its 9-day run.

32nd annual Holiday Tree Festival raises record-breaking $262,000

The volunteers at Akron Children’s Hospital had much to celebrate following the conclusion of the 2013 Holiday Tree Festival. The event, which was held last November, enjoyed another record-breaking year, raising $262,000 for the hospital’s patient care and research programs.

The $200 million building expansion will include a 368,735-square-foot medical building that will house a new ER, NICU, high-risk delivery area and outpatient surgery.

Akron Children’s Hospital launched its Graffiti Project to honor current and former patients on the new medical building currently under construction on the Akron campus.
