How many other 5 year olds can boast they’ve helped save lives of thousands of children? Since joining our transport team in November 2008, Air Bear, Akron Children’s pediatric medical transport helicopter, has managed to make a huge impact in the region.

We would be willing to bet a lot of kids slept the whole way home from Saturday’s 98.1 WKDD Kidz Day at Boettler Park in Green. About 12,000 people came to enjoy non-stop entertainment – just as the radio station promised.

Mitchell Holley, a chaplain at Akron Children’s Hospital, is able to be a comforting presence for patients, families and even the crew during their time of need.
