Canfield teen connects with patients through music

Canfield High School junior Max Lee wants to both entertain and inspire Akron Children’s patients who he encounters as part of a new volunteer initiative he helped establish. Max, a participant in the hospital’s Teen Outreach program, plays keyboard in the outpatient registration waiting room on the Beeghly campus for an hour each week.

Parent Courtesy Cart brings comfort to patient families

The Parent Courtesy Cart on the Beeghly campus is staff by volunteers from the Parent Advisory Council. They visit both the pediatric floor and the Special Care Nursery with juice, coffee, and snacks for the families.
