After participating in Akron Children’s Mahoning Valley radiothon, the Youngstown Heart Walk, and the Walk for Babies (all within a 5- day span), we felt that we couldn’t possibly feel better, or more excited, to be the parents of such a fun, silly, exciting little girl who has inspired us to do all of those things.

Well, we’ve turned the calendar page to September at our house. I knew that I had been writing a lot of things on there, but I didn’t realize just how many until I actually flipped the page and saw what looked like a mess of scribbles.
We were excited about the Walk for Babies for weeks here at our house. You couldn’t tell by the date we registered, since we did it, well, like we do most things around this house—a little later than everyone else (that’s why most of our friends have kids who are in school already!).
During a conversation we had with an Akron Children’s employee a couple of months ago, he mentioned an event called Walk for Babies. It’s an event celebrating the neonatal intensive care unit at Akron Children’s Hospital.
The Akron Zoo will host the 6th annual Walk for Babies fundraiser this Sunday. Walk for Babies was created by Sam and Shelby Snellenberger who wanted to give back to the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) staff at Akron Children’s after they cared for their daughter, Amelia.
