Who expects to be rushing to the hospital at 3 in the morning because your child is in tears from severe stomach pain? Do you have a change of clothes? Your phone? What if your child is admitted? Where should you park? What about food?
Whether it’s a trip to the ER or a scheduled appointment at a specialty clinic, you may have these and many other questions related to your visit to the hospital. As a member of the Family Centered Care Committee at Akron Children’s, I am part of a diverse group of hospital staff whose goal is to ensure that everything we do is focused on the needs of our patients and families, including timely, helpful answers related to your hospital visits.
As a result, Akron Children’s now offers 3INFO, our 24/7 visitor information line and concierge service. Volunteers at our Reinberger Family Center are available to answer your questions, including where you can do laundry during your stay at one of our pediatric hospitals in Akron or Boardman, or even the location of the nearest Italian restaurant. They’ll even make the reservations for you.
3INFO is extension 34636 from a hospital phone, or 330-543-4636 from outside Children’s. You will also find a complete, searchable directory of information related to your hospital visit at www.akronchildrens.org/3info
