On Tuesday, Jan. 25, Harlem Globetrotter Firefly Fisher took some time out from hooping it up on the court to visit the patients at Akron Children’s Hospital’s Beeghly campus in Boardman. He showed off his signature Harlem Globetrotting ball handling, signed autographs and shared some laughs.
The visit was part of Smile Patrol™, the Harlem Globetrotters’ outreach program designed to brighten the day of special fans who are unable to attend a Globetrotters game. Smile Patrol visits more than 200 children’s hospitals worldwide each year, spreading joy and creating lifetime memories.
The Harlem Globetrotters are bringing their spectacular 2011 “4 Times the Fun” World Tour to the Covelli Centre in Youngstown on Saturday, Jan. 29. They will perform for a doubleheader at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m.
