The holidays are such an overwhelming time. Between shopping, family gatherings, work, Randy’s coaching, and trying to fit in our fun traditions, sometimes we need to slow down to look at why we celebrate the season.
We would not have been able to handle our mountains and valleys with Jordan in the way that we have this year without our faith. Christmas reminds us that our faith’s beginning started with the birth of Jesus. He is where our courage is strengthened, our tears are comforted, and our victories are made sweeter.
We pray that we never forget that we are promised that HE will never leave us or expect us to handle our ups and downs alone. As we celebrate Christmas this year, it gives us a greater joy that God sent His son to give us the hope that Jordan will grow up to love Him as much as we do.
Our appointment last week was an early Christmas present and perhaps the best gift of the season. We had an efficient visit in Radiology for Jordan’s head ultrasound. Marchelle, the ultrasound tech, was a welcome beginning to our busy day.
Holly Zeller, Dr. Hudgins’ physician’s assistant, came into our room first to check to see how Jordan’s soft spot felt and assess him before seeing Dr. Hudgins.
When the doctor came in, he said that Jordan’s head circumference is consistently measuring in the 98th percentile and his ultrasound results did not show significant increase in fluid on his brain. We are holding on to the statement he made, that this “may just be Jordan.”
We will come back in a month for another look. But until then, Jordan is just going to be Jordan … and that’s the way we like it!
