This week, Akron Children’s Emily Cooper Welty Expressive Therapy Center hosted the Magical Theatre Company and their production entitled “Hood in the Wood” (the story of Little Red Riding Hood). We were thrilled to have patients and families as well as staff and their families make time to attend. The cast consisted of one actor, one musician and about 40 musical instruments.
To celebrate Martin Luther King day, staff and families were invited to the expressive therapy center to design a quilt square with the theme “I have a dream that…..” Some beautiful artwork was created. Quilt squares will continue to be distributed and collected. The finished product will be on display here at the hospital in the near future.
And finally, Molly Kohut, MA, ATR-BC, PCC, has joined us as the latest member of the expressive therapy center team. She is a board-certified art therapist who comes to us from Hospice of the Western Reserve.
Welcome Molly – we are so glad you are here!
