Golf pro Martin Laird and his wife, Meagan, in Akron for this weekend’s World Golf Championship–Bridgestone Invitational, stopped by Akron Children’s Hospital to visit with patients and distribute homemade quilts.
The nonprofit group, Quilts for Kids, donated 120 quilts to the hospital. The quilts are stitched by volunteers all across the country.
Martin, who was born in Scotland and attended college at Colorado State University, turned pro in 2004 and has had two PGA Tour career wins and 18 top 10 finishes.
Meagan is vice president of community outreach for the PGA Tour Wives Association, which supports children and families through a variety of volunteer and fundraising programs.
Good luck to Martin as he heads to Firestone Country Club for tournament play.

PGA golf pro Martin Laird and his wife, Meagan, bring cheers to Elizabeth O’Bryant, 8, of Streetsboro. Elizabeth chose a pink and blue quilt from dozens of options.
