The 2012 Holiday Tree Festival, which was presented by the volunteers of Akron Children’s Hospital in November, raised $250,000 for the hospital’s patient care, education and research programs.
Mary Leuca, chair of the 2012 festival, presented John Zoilo, executive director of the Akron Children’s Hospital Foundation, with a check during the annual thank you luncheon.
“It was such a fabulous year and there was more camaraderie and teamwork than I have ever seen before,” Leuca said.
The festival is organized by more than 1,000 volunteers and has raised more than $4.5 million to benefit research, education and patient care programs at the hospital since it began in 1982.
Thanks to all of our volunteers for their dedication to Akron Children’s Hospital, and thank you to all who attended the festival and made it a record-breaking year. Mark your calendars for the 2013 Holiday Tree Festival, which will take place Nov. 23 – Dec. 1 at the John S. Knight Center in Akron.
