Ethan Libert, a 10-year-old boy from Niles, served as an honorary Pilot for a Day at the 910th Airlift Wing at the Youngstown Air Reserve Station in Vienna, Ohio.
His day was packed with “once in a lifetime” activities like being sworn in as an honorary second lieutenant, firing of the Fire Arms Training Simulator, and a ride on a base fire truck. He shared his day with his parents, Kimberly and Jim Libert.
Ethan is being treated for Type 1 diabetes at Akron Children’s Hospital Mahoning Valley.
The Pilot for a Day program provides children with chronic, life-threatening conditions a day of fun at the base.
