Akron Children’s Hospital Mahoning Valley annual “Miracles and Promises” Radiothon” had a record year, raising $219,450. This is 14 percent more than last year and the most raised in the event’s six-year history.
The Miracles & Promises Radiothon took place Sept. 17-19 and was broadcast live on Mix 98.9 and 570 WKBN. The event featured stories about patients who have received services from Akron Children’s Hospital and spotlighted Mahoning Valley services and programs. One hundred percent of the funds raised will stay in the Mahoning Valley to benefit local children and families.
“It is Akron Children’s promise that no child is turned away for any reason, including their family’s inability to pay and we believe that every child has the right to world-class medical care in a family-centered environment,” said JoAnn Stock, Akron Children’s Director of Development. “Through the support of the “Miracles and Promises” Radiothon, donors help to provide this quality care to children and families in the Mahoning Valley,” she added.
Since its inception in 2009, the Miracles and Promises Radiothon has raised $959,450 for the programs and services that help local children served by Akron Children’s Hospital Mahoning Valley.
