On Wednesday, Sept. 17, my twin daughter Maddie was sad about her dog being sick. She was petting her and the dog decided to bite her in the face.
The first thing was to get her to the closest hospital to have her treated. After being treated and released we thought that the trauma of getting stitches and losing her dog was over.
On Monday we went to have the stitches removed and her pediatrician noticed that Maddie had an abscess under the skin.
The doctor sent us directly to Akron Children’s. We received the best care when we arrived.
After a minor surgical procedure Maddie was admitted to the 6th floor for further treatment.
From Dr. Ng, the plastic surgeon resident, to all the staff, volunteers, and doctors I will never worry about the closest hospital. I will choose the best place for a child and their needs. That is Akron Children’s.
Maddie did art therapy during her stay and she wanted to share that painting with everyone.
