A contest could yield a $20,000 donation to Akron Children’s Hospital – but we need your help.
During the month of May, you can vote for your favorite local Children’s Miracle Network Hospital, each represented by a brave Miracle Child, in the “Battle of the Brave.”
Sponsored by Speedway and Dr. Pepper Snapple Group, the hospital with the most votes at the end of the month will win a $20,000 donation. (The contest also will award a second-place prize of $10,000 and a third-place prize of $5,000.)
Akron Children’s Hospital is represented by Miracle Child Tyler Jordan.
This 14 year old doesn’t let cerebral palsy get in his way.
Doctors once thought he would never walk or talk, but aside from a slight limp, nothing else is noticeable about his diagnosis. Tyler loves karate, plays pranks and hopes to be in the Navy one day.
Diagnosed with the condition just before his second birthday, Tyler and his family have come to depend on the expert care they receive that’s so close to home. Today, Tyler receives treatment and follow-up care at the Boardman Medical Pavilion every 3 to 6 months.
“It never feels like you are going to the doctor’s office,” said Tyler. “It feels like you’re going to a friend’s house.”
