Thirty-four teams and 136 golfers packed the course at the Youngstown Country Club on Aug. 7 for the 5th annual Clubs for Kids Golf Classic.
Participants raised nearly $50,000 to support Akron Children’s Hospital Mahoning Valley’s patients, programs and services – bringing the event’s 5-year total to more than $250,000.
The event also featured a youth golf clinic sponsored by The Tod Family Foundation. Sixty children participated in the observation clinic that focused on grip, stance, posture and alignment, as well as chipping and putting instruction.
Boardman resident Laney Pinciaro sent all 3 of her children.
“This is the first year they attended and they loved it!,” Laney said. “We will definitely do it again.”
