Boardman Subaru recently presented Akron Children’s Hospital a check for $32,000 as a result of its annual Subaru Share the Love campaign. 2015 marked the second year that the dealership selected the hospital as its hometown charity partner for the annual event.
The campaign at Boardman Subaru raised more than $27,000 for Akron Children’s and the dealership donated an additional $5,000, bringing the total donation to $32,000. Over the past 2 years, Boardman Subaru has donated more than $62,000 to Akron Children’s Hospital Mahoning Valley.
“We are always excited for the opportunity to support the community,” said Rob Fellman, owner of Boardman Subaru. “Working with a great organization like Akron Children’s is an honor.”
Nationally, Subaru of America Inc. announced it donated nearly $20 million to national and local charities during its 2015 Share the Love event, a record total for the campaign. Held at the end of each year, Subaru donates $250 for every new Subaru vehicle sold or leased to the customer’s choice of one of several national or local charities.
In total, Subaru has donated nearly $70 million to charitable organizations through this initiative over the past 8 years.
“When you break down the theme, ‘share the love,’ you can see how it’s successful,” said Bill Considine, president and CEO of Akron Children’s Hospital. “The Subaru family shares the same value system as Akron Children’s and these dollars will be used to help the families we’re so privileged to serve.”
