It was an election year extravaganza from the nation’s leading political satire troupe.
On Oct. 5, The Capitol Steps brought its political satire to Stambaugh Auditorium in Youngstown for a one-night only performance. By the end of the evening, the event raised $20,000 for Akron Children’s Hospital Mahoning Valley.
The evening kicked off with a special VIP cocktail reception featuring convention-style fun, an appearance by Uncle Sam and an Americana themed buffet by Inspired Catering by Kravitz.
During the main performance, the troupe delivered skits, song parodies and spot-on impersonations of prominent political figures.
“This is the nation’s leading political satire troupe that sells out performances all over the country,” said JoAnn Stock, senior director of development, Akron Children’s. “We were fortunate to have them in Youngstown in October when the general election is in full swing.”
