Siblings Hunter, 2.5 years old, and Autumn, 1.5 years old, are close and love playing together.
Our daughter Autumn was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) in January 2017 at only 5 months old. That night our whole world was flipped upside down and we had no idea what to expect.
When we took her in, they didn’t think she would make it through the night, but our girl showed her strength and fought her way through treatment.

Autumn loves Doc McStuffins and has her very own ID badge.
We have faced a few hiccups in the road but all in all our Autumn has kicked cancer’s butt. We have a year of treatment left (at Showers Family Center for Childhood Cancer & Blood Disorders) and hope that she continues to battle and show how tough she is.
Since being diagnosed, Akron Children’s Hospital has become our second home. They have supported our family throughout this process and done more than we could have ever expected for us.

Volunteer Paul Robinson (aka Dr. Bonehead) visited Autumn and her mom Brittany when she was admitted during Fourth of July 2017. She was 11 months old.
The entire staff has shown that they truly care for our daughter and that she is more than just another patient. We want to take this opportunity to give back and show our appreciation, so our son Hunter is collecting donations as a Change Bandit from friends and family in honor of Autumn.

Lauren Stanley, RN, cares for Autumn frequently in the oncology outpatient clinic.
