Congratulations to Shana Earle, the hospital’s new vice president of professional and support services. In her new role, Shana is responsible for oversight of the organization’s professional services including pharmacy, laboratory, radiology, chaplaincy and support services including nutrition and environmental services.
Shana joined Akron Children’s in 2010. Most recently she served as director of finance and business systems for the department of pediatrics. Before joining the hospital, she worked in financial management at University Hospitals Medical Group and Cole Vision Group and as a senior accountant at Deloitte.
What are you looking forward to and what do you think some of the challenges will be in your new role?
I’m looking forward to working with great teams and people who are committed to providing the highest quality care and service for our patients and families. As far as challenges, the health care industry is in a period where patients are putting on their consumer goggles and looking for provider organizations to deliver care in increasingly competitive ways. It is challenging, yet exciting, to know we are being tasked to transform and enhance the way we deliver care and provide service to be more innovative, efficient and price conscious.
