Jo-Ann Fabric and Craft Store, a major underwriter of the Holiday Tree Festival, and its Inspiration Elves have been hard at work this year creating their own creative and icy version of a Frozen Winter Wonderland, which is a part of this year’s special raffle.
In the 33rd annual Holiday Tree Festival, Just B Design and Abshire and Haylan’s, a jewelry store in Stow, Ohio, wanted to do something unique with their tree, which they named Just B Hopeful.
Rhonda Sloan and Colleen Morgan of Macy’s Department Store found the inspiration behind their Holiday Tree Festival tree design from the poem Pennies from Heaven. Their tree is one of many unique trees you can see at this year’s 33rd annual Holiday Tree Festival at the John S. Knight Center through Nov. 30. Admission is free.

Nine local talents danced their way into the hearts of more than 500 people recently at the 3rd annual “Dancing for the Kids” event at the Akron Civic Theatre. The show raised $93,386 for the Showers Family Center for Childhood Cancer and Blood Disorders at Akron Children’s.
On Oct. 24, Akron Children’s Hospital announced the name of its new medical building on the Akron campus: the Kay Jewelers Pavilion.
The new building was named in recognition of Kay® Jewelers continued support and recent $10 million gift towards the “Building on the Promise” capital campaign. The gift is the largest in Akron Children’s history.
