When 6-year-old Ava Turner smiles at you, you immediately find yourself smiling back. And these days, Ava has a lot to smile about, thanks to Akron Children’s Hospital.
Three years ago, Marisa Manocchio was diagnosed with leukemia. Today, she’s a healthy 22-year-old majoring in integrated mathematics education at Kent State University. To show thanks to for the care she has received at Akron Children’s Hospital, Marisa will be participating in a campaign at Giant Eagle stores. The proceeds will benefit Akron Children’s Showers Family Center for Childhood Cancer and Blood Disorders.
In 2009, Akron Children’s Hospital featured Cael Williams of Norton, Ohio, in one of its documentary-style TV commercials.
