Holiday Tree Festival: A dazzling display of dedication
Twinkling lights, beautifully-decorated trees and dazzling displays are set to shine at the 33rd annual Holiday Tree Festival, which for many, kicks off the holiday season on Nov. 22. The festival, which is presented by the volunteers of Akron Children’s Hospital, is expected to draw more than 250,000 visitors during its 9-day run.
Ohio CycleWorks Charities set to ride 3,000 miles to support hospital
Ohio CycleWorks Charities, a team of four cyclists, is set to take off Saturday, June 14 at 12 p.m. in the Race Across America (RAAM). The cyclists, Bryan Ray, Matt Geis, Brian Zupancic and Shawn Aker, will bike 3,000 miles across the country from Oceanside, Calif. to Annapolis, Md. in an event built on a foundation of giving back to the community.
