Ohio CycleWorks Charities, a team of four cyclists, is set to take off Saturday, June 14 at 12 p.m. in the Race Across America (RAAM). The cyclists, Bryan Ray, Matt Geis, Brian Zupancic and Shawn Aker, will bike 3,000 miles across the country from Oceanside, Calif. to Annapolis, Md. in an event built on a foundation of giving back to the community.
They came with secret spices, old family recipes, Food Network-inspired twists and super deluxe Crock Pots. The competitors at the 7th annual Lauren Audrey Braman Memorial Chili Cook-Off and Dessert Bake-Off came to Copley High School on March 23 with high hopes of victory, but also good intentions as the event raises funds for Akron Children’s Hospital.
The Showers Family Foundation is encouraging the community to fight for a cure with Cash Dash for Cancer, an online fundraising campaign that will take place Aug. 23 – 25. The foundation plans to match every dollar donated online by the public and donations will go toward cancer research. The money will go toward cancer research at Akron Children’s Hospital.
Last night, 136 of the 650 Change Bandits rallied at the Sheraton Suites in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, for the Change Bandit Bash.
