Ohio CycleWorks Charities, a team of four cyclists, is set to take off Saturday, June 14 at 12 p.m. in the Race Across America (RAAM). The cyclists, Bryan Ray, Matt Geis, Brian Zupancic and Shawn Aker, will bike 3,000 miles across the country from Oceanside, Calif. to Annapolis, Md. in an event built on a foundation of giving back to the community.
Putting a face to “Race Across America”
Friends of mine from OhioCycleWorks Charities are cycling their way across the country to raise money for Akron Children’s Hospital. On June 13 – the day the race started – my son, Jake, was scheduled for a spinal fusion at Akron Children’s Hospital. The bike team decided to dedicate their race to Jake and another boy, who was also helped by Akron Children’s a couple of years ago when he had a tumor.
