More than 1,000 attendees celebrated Akron Children’s Hospital’s upcoming 125th birthday at an anniversary gala on Sept. 12. The event highlighted our generous community’s support and was presented by the Women’s Board of Akron Children’s Hospital.
Nine local talents danced their way into the hearts of more than 500 people recently at the 3rd annual “Dancing for the Kids” event at the Akron Civic Theatre. The show raised $93,386 for the Showers Family Center for Childhood Cancer and Blood Disorders at Akron Children’s.
About 150 people enjoyed the music, art and dancing provided by our patients and their art therapists at Akron Children’s Expressive Therapy open house. For some of the kids, who struggle with chronic illnesses that keep them hospitalized much of the year, the open house gives them an opportunity to participate in a recital, an event many typical kids take for granted.
